I Don’t Even Know What I’m Talking About (Number 3) Yeah Beethoven You Idiot Put Some Words in There!!
Hello and welcome to another (bonus) I don’t even know what I’m talking about. For those who don’t yet know what this is. Well, this is my series where I have no idea where this thing is going when I start. There’s no cover picture or subtitle, just me writing gibberish for a bit.
So. I’ll start with the bit that’s planned, the elephant in the room and an apology. I promised that I’d have Video Games I’ve Enjoyed 3 published here by now. But as you can see, I haven’t. The reason for this is simply that I did write the article but even by my standards which are lack lustre at the best of times, the article was actually terrible. So I’ve scrapped it and decided to start again. It’ll be out at the weekend (promise).
So instead of that you’re getting this but the good thing about this is that it gives me a chance to just chat in a chilled out care free way where I don’t have to worry about making sense.
It also gives me a chance to give another shout out because I’ve gained another follower. Internet blogger, gaming fan and all round nice dude. Story Line. So the news then.. My Christmas tree is up.. It took me ages though but i managed it. It’s only a narrow thing as you can see but what took so long was the lights. Here’s my first rant of the day. Christmas tree lights are stupid and annoying, why? Well I spent two hours this evening untangling the same lights I spent an hour and a half back on January the 2nd to make sure that they wouldn’t get tangled on December the 4th, and because the wire is so long I end up just threading wires through eachother and over and under. I swear at one point I was just making it worse but eventually I cobbled together something that sort of looks like a tree fit for the 25th of December.
So I was on the internet earlier. And I found this, the new trance nation album. I’m not going into too much detail here.. I’ll tell you in an article soon why this sucks.. And yes it does suck and I LOVE trance. But I won’t buy it. Ministry of Sound have ruined the industry for everyone but then they didn’t even want to release the first Trance Nation back in 1999 until they saw how well Euphoria sold and jumped on the gravy train. But no I’ll resist going down this road. But I can just see the Ministry of Sound meeting back in 1999.. “We’re a house club. We don’t want trance in our brand” and i know this is true by the way. Just ask Dave Pearce.
My friends who like rock music used to argue that trance was terrible because lots of tracks don’t have words in.. Yeah on that basis Beethoven is an idiot too then because none of his symphonies had words in.. Yeah Beethoven you idiot put some words in there! You see why this argument is stupid now don’t you?
Here’s something else that’s made me loose my faith in humanity this week. Listening to a bunch of Americans on YouTube argue about whether you should eat fish and chips with your hands or a knife and fork. Yes there’s a 9 minute video (link in the comments) that contains this argument. First obvious question to me is why the hell would you eat a piece of fried fish with your hands?!?! I mean. Yeah you eat chicken with your hands but that’s different. A fried fish is greasy and falls apart if you look at it funny. Surely? (shrugs) But then i’m the sort of person that is OK with pineapple on a pizza so I’m the last person you want to ask on this one if I’m honest. I’ll ignore the second question as to what the hell am I doing watching such drivel on YouTube.. O.K I won’t ignore this (I need to pad this article out a bit) It’s a short answer to be honest. That’s what I think YouTube is for these days. That and watching people fall off skateboards, cats doing stupid things and not to mention watching people play video games that you play too, so there you have it.
I may as well talk about this then I guess if im padding this out a bit. The details for the Official F1 Season Review 2018 have been leaked with a couple of things that frankly worry me. In the last few years the blu ray has been pretty good in my opinion with retrospective (past tense) commentary. But this year it sounds to me like the commentary is going to be Sky F1 highlights which makes me think that if you want to watch the blu ray for free then just watch their YouTube channel (this has been a very YouTube heavy article). Seriously though I can see their race highlights on the blu ray being identical to the YouTube channel. This just smacks of three things to me. Budget budget and budget. This is nothing more than a cheap cost cutting thing and I can actually see (if of course this is true) the reviews being pretty damming and yes I’ll be watching the amazon review section with huge interest on this one.
Finally in this short article. The FA cup.. This is actually not a rant but more a good thing that I still enjoy.. The first 2 rounds have been superb so far with the BBC Friday night offerings being very interesting to see.. Not least because you get to see some grounds that you don’t get to see normally (Solihull Moors FC anyone?) But what I’m now waiting for is the Scottish Cup because there you really do see some interesting grounds. But for round three. Well. My club is at home to Southampton but Solihill Moors if they can get past Blackpool will be at home to.. Arsenal. Oh if only for an upset there.. The FA Cup is about dreams.. Right??
And that is going to do it for now.. Only a short one but it was fun anyway. I’ll have more soon (I promise this time.. I really do)
